7 Bollywood Films that Deserved the Censor Axe but Didn’t! See List
India has become one of the world’s largest democracies over the years. But are we really enjoying everything that comes alongside it? Right from religious extremism to the ban of several movies, India has proved its double standards time and again.
Yes! Being the hypocritical country that we are, everyone wishes to play it safe; be it the politicians or the layman. Intending to not offend anyone, we have become a bunch of diplomats being unable to voice our opinion out in the open. And when one tries to showcase the same cinematically, what do we do? That’s right, we ban them.
1. Mastizaade
Right from vulgarity to double meaning references, this film was everything but sensible. Lacking originality, Sunny Leone failed to impress the audience apart from ofc... you know!
Although the Censor Board made a few cuts to the film, the final version was far-off from being even the 'F' of film. We wonder what was originally made though!
2. Boom
'Boom' managed to bomb at the box-office beyond one's imagination. And what was Katrina Kaif doing here anyway?
Claiming to be a new-age thriller, 'Boom' proved itself to be a fury of skin show, bland acting and unsensible script. Bravo to the board for turning a blind eye to this film; it did flourish Katrina's career afterall!
3. Jism 2
And then there's 'Jism 2'. Guess the censor board is really in love with Sunny Leone cause none of her films seem to facing the censor axe.
In a culturally rich country like India where the word 'Punjab' can offend us, a movie that is beyond sleazy recieves a thumbs up. Well, what can we say!
4. Kya Kool Hain Hum 3
Well, why would a movie that claims itself to be India's first Porn-com be banned? C'mon, don't be absurd! Porn, sex and adult comedy gets a clear chit everytime; rest assured!
5. Hate Story 3
Not that 'Hate Story' 1 or 2 was any good, but the third sequel managed to cross all levels of sleaziness. Apart from the four actors who cannot act, the movie had everything the censor board usally chooses to ban. But ofc, a clean chit it is!
6. Calender Girls
Calender Girls? Never heard of it and don't wanna hear ot it. End of story!
7. Ek Paheli Leela
When you have Sunny, why do you need a story? And the board thoroughly follows this rule!
